Be a part of Climate Solutions
October 10, 2010 (10/10/10) is this year's global day to celebrate climate solutions. Instigated by 350.org, as of today there are 5162 events planned in 175 countries.
To celebrate in Buffalo we are having The Green Buffalo Run (& Walk). We will take a photograph of all runners to upload onto the 350.org website.
All you need to do to join the worldwide movement on October 10 is:
- Announce your celebration to whatever network of friends, organizational members (congregation, neighborhood group, book or hiking club) you want to reach out to.
- Register your event at www.350.org . . . (Each event needn't be big - but heartfelt is a must!) So far there are almost 5500 events scheduled in 174 countries.
- Get together to: plant a tree, go on a bike ride, have a picnic in the park & enjoy the fall foliage, plan how you might help weatherize homes in your neighborhood, start the process to lower your collective "carbon footprint" (check out the Low Carbon Diet & save $$$, save energy, save our life-sustaining planet).

And don't forget to show up at 9:00 am ready to run or walk in The Green Buffalo Run (at the Parkside/Jewett entrance near the Buffalo ZOO.) We will run through the park before exiting on Meadow, turning left on to Nottingham, crossing over Delaware towards the bike path then on to Hoyt Lake for one loop around, then back to the park. Walks can opt for the 1.8 mile Delaware Park loop.
