As we often tell people at our Fender Blender events, local food is the key to making anything taste good. In order to help guide Western New York residents to shop local, the Grow Team included local farmers markets on the recently launched Go Outside Map. However, with autumn just around the corner, backyard gardeners are picking the last of their fruits and vegetables, and getting ready to put their gardens to rest. Does this mean the farmers are as well?
Fear not WNY, most of the farmers markets listed on our map are open through the end of October, with some open as late as mid-December. There are even a handful of year round markets, so there is always the option to buy local.
Below are some of the markets that will be closing soon, so make sure you schedule your next shopping trip before it is too late.
