After the success of a fourth Summit, Dave Bauer and Sustainable Earth Solutions are forming their Youth Advisory Board for the development of future workshops. Students and teachers from the March 2010 Environmental Youth Summit will be invited to take on leadership roles as Sustainable Earth Solutions deepens the vision for future Summits.
An exciting evolution for a future Summit is to weave in ethnic diversity training that would address attitudes and behaviors of high school age youth. Environmental projects would be designed and implementaed by mixed teams from ten WNY high schools. Seed money is awarded to all the teams that show progress as they implement their plans. Leadership and advocacy skills are gained by the student participants as they challenge themselves to sustain their projects and efforts at their schools and in their communites.
