There has been lots of conversation surrounding Regional Economic Development Council community workshops taking place this week throughout the eight counties of Western New York. The final community workshop will take place in Niagara County tonight from 6-8 PM.
These workshops and the state's new Regional Economic Development Councils are not the only new thing. Organizations seeking funding from nine state agencies will use a new Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) for state funding.
On July 20, 2011, as part of an initiative to transform New York State’s model for economic development and job creation, Governor Cuomo announced that up to $1 billion in economic development funding would be made available through the CFA. Starting on September 2, 2011, the CFA was made available to eligible applicants, marking a shift in how economic development resources will be allocated from here on out.
