Join Tifft Nature Preserve and the Buffalo Museum of Science at Erie Canal Harbor at Canalside - Central Wharf to celebrate 150 Years of Buffalo Science!

Come get your bug on! Take a close-up look at real live insects and their buggy friends- count their legs, look at their eyes and learn more about their fascinating bodies.

FREE. No pre-registration required.  Drop-in program.

Want to learn more about the work Riverkeeper is doing throughout our region?  Come to a free, one-hour informational tour to let us walk you through our programs and the impact they have on our community.

Learn the personal reasons behind our staff’s engagement in this important cause.  Also, learn how Riverkeeper is going to the heart of the problem.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • It is estimated that approximately 1/3 of the world’s population will not have access to adequate drinking water by 2025.
  • Our region lies on the shores of the greatest single source of fresh water on the planet — the Great Lakes.
  • More than 120 viruses can be found in untreated sewage.
  • Riverkeeper has already recruited a team of more than 100 residents to conduct our own water quality testing.

Tours are held in the Riverkeeper offices monthly on the second Wednesday at noon.

Two-hour science sails on the floating classroom, Spirit of Buffalo! Test your sea legs while you engage in hands-on learning in Lake Erie science topics. Check out our Lake Tank, capture plankton, explore our microscope lab and steer the ship along our historic waterfront. For ages 6+. Tickets are $8 for kids under 12 and $10 for adults.
